BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medication that is injected into the specific muscles responsible for causing moderate to severe forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows of adult patients.
What is It?
BOTOX® contains tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum. Formulations, potency, and approved doses vary among botulinum toxin products, which means that one product cannot take the place of another.
How does it work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet and forehead lines. Recurring use of specific muscle groups, over time, cause deep furrows to develop in the treated areas. The BOTOX® temporarily reduces the muscle activity.
Will it make me look "frozen"?
Using the appropriate amount of medication will give the best results. *Injecting too little or too much can effect the final result.* BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy.
How much does it cost?
At Golden Rule Skin Clinic, Botox costs $12 per unit and is available any day we are open, during any visit. During Botox Bonus Days the cost is $10 per unit. At $10 per unit and based on treatment guidelines published by Allergan, the makers of BOTOX® Cosmetic, the following areas should on average cost:
